Deer:
Must be something in the air, or the time of year, or something. Batty is now on the outs with her grandmother on her father's side. Gram decided she needed to weigh in on Batty's decision to break ties with her father, six months after the fact and without having all the information. Needless to say, she's siding with her son.
Sarge, I'm thinking good thoughts for you!
I'm back in DC now, and will go back to work at the old job tomorrow. I expect I'll still be helping out the Denver folks long-distance, too. We'll see how everything goes...

Deer,
I saw that! I believe you handled that very well in the moment and followed through with an action that is best for preserving any sort of meaningful relationship.

Thanks to all for the
, which I needed!!! You guys are my peeps. One more day to the weekend, Av. Hang in there.
So here is my week: In addition to still not getting paid for anything yet in 2015 because of others' incompetence, and very possibly losing our immigration status and therefore our jobs, and the drama with my niece; this morning I discovered our old dog is really sick. If it's tick fever she may not last the day.
I was almost laughing at how crazy life is lately but this isn't funny. I love that old doofus.

Ah hell Deer, I'm so sorry to hear it.
) we've shifted around our hours a bit and decided to close at 13h30 on Fridays, to get an early start on the weekend, which is pretty nice.
On the downside, we're losing the 30 minutes early we used to leave on Mondays, but it's probably worth it.

On a slightly more cheerful note (well, for me anyway,Savor Dam wrote:Yes...hanging on by fingernails for another day until "Friday, I'm in Love!"

I will second that bright and animated emotion, with a Hobbes added in for good measure.
I managed to get through the week without saying something heartfelt and unfortunate to the coworker who got me in trouble for 'working too loudly,' when she had a hangover, or to the supervisor who sided with the coworker.
One of these days I will work with responsible adults in an environment where hard work is valued over clique status. Such places exist, right? Or maybe I should become a hermit. That has more appeal every day.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?
Saying hi to everyone and apologizing for my absence. Good wishes to all that need or want them.
Been a stressful time for me getting my health back but I'm getting there. Thank God for health insurance. I can't imagine people in this country that don't have it, never mind countries in this world that don't even have healthcare. I feel lucky.
Getting ready for a trip to Europe for a month to celebrate my 60th birthday. I leave in early June. Yay!
