Glen Cook's fantasy/detective series.

I'd recommend Black Company to any Malazan fan - it's not Erikson (most things aren't) - but it's good.

The detective series is lighter - occasionally reminiscent of Discworld at times (or maybe it's just me) - sometimes annoying... though the characters have matured over the years, there are some stereotypes that bug me - though I acknowledge that it's true to the background setup of the series.
