I'll third that.

Trying to decide if I should give in to my desire to be antisocial and not go out all weekend, or attend part of the impromptu gathering of WoW folks - some of whom I have not seen since last year and at least a couple I haven't met. On the other hand, it'll mainly involve bar-hopping, which really isn't my thing.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

Go hop bars Sorus. It will do you good. ;)

It's bloody freezing in JHB this morning. And totally overcast with a chance of rain, which is damn unusual, this is supposed to be a summer rainfall area.

D'oh... I hate it when there's a get-together of people who I in general want to see... but then it's an activity that not at all my thing, or is boring. (or they're at a place that's too loud to hear!)

What didja decide?
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

Well, here we are at Monday morning again. It just goes round and round. :D This weekend was not as restful as I had hoped. Now a whole week lies ahead...

Fifth day of a twelve day vacation here. I'm in Fargo, ND, where we just got done visiting with the gf's son. Driving back home today to do a few things around the house.

D'oh...

I'm having some icky feelings this Monday morning.
Just talked to a potential tutoring client (parent)... and whoa, boy...

After I got off the phone, the _real_ red lights started to go off:
"He didn't click the link to read my profile, or else he wouldn't have asked some of those questions."
"He was aggressively fishing for weaknesses."
"He was trying to make me uncomfortable from when he opened up the call."
"He's trying to get a whole visit out there for free out of me. He's trying to get more out of me than they intend to give."

Realized, "Wait, that's how the whole tutoring relationship would have gone. I don't want to tutor their kids."
Called back and said no.

Sounds like the right decision, Linna. It's important to be able to say no, especially in situations where people are trying to take advantage of you.

I did not attend the get-together - it started too late and I was too tired and just not up for dealing with the noise and crowds and excuses excuses excuses. Maybe next year.

Thanks, Wayfriend. Now I can't very well ask whether Lord Damelon's consort's son is a chip off the old block.

Just found out that my minion has most of the next week off starting tomorrow. Yay. Not that I begrudge him the time off - he needs it too - but they certainly wouldn't let me take time off at this time of year. Now my workload is going to be sextuple. Such a fun word, yet this is not going to be the least bit fun.

I'm stuffed! End of financial year rush is over, and now I have to start again. I've got a week off next week which is the 2nd week of school holidays, so I'll be looking after the kids, and desperate to get back to work after that

D'oh... sextupled?!?
Gah... and it was going to be tripled or quadrupled before?

Little terrors!

Sometimes, Av, for all your no-way-no-kids-ever comments, I suspect that you and the gf would find kids* to be the most completely hilarious thing ever.

* of your own; other people's kids are a whole different ball game
