Cats can detect when a sick individual is near death even if no outward signs are visible to us. This phenomena is well documented in hospices etc where a cat is kept.
President of Peace? You fucking idiots!
"I know what America is. America is a thing that you can move very easily. Move it in the right direction. They won't get in the way." (Benjamin Netenyahu 2001.)

'Have we not served you well'
'Of course - you know you have.'
'Then let it end.'

I'm pretty sure I'd be able to detect a near dead sick person if I too were kept in a hospice.
Cats can get pretty attuned to your emotions. I have one who loses the fur on the backs of her ears when I'm really stressed out - she'll also curl up next to me at night and purr into my ear.
As to the earthquake thing, it's thought that they can sense it before we can due to being low to the ground and generally sensitive to their surroundings, but the last time there was a quake here their only reaction was to give me the stink eye after it started - "You're doing that, aren't you? Stop that."
Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?
