Diaf which is an acronym for "Death in a Flash" which is a sniper moto, but it has always reminded me of the Bloodguard and also the power of the ring.
I saw some Gunslinger chat while skimming posts I have to say it is the second best series I have read behind TC, I just finished Song of Susanah and am dying for the Dark Tower.

judith is not my real name. It is in fact the name of my favourite painting by my favoutie artist. Gustav Klimt ... Judith 1. So by proxy It is also the name of the subject of the painting... the biblical judith from the story of Judith and Holofernes... which goes along the lines of... Holofernes is the enemy general that has overtaken Judiths city... she sets about the seduction of of Holofernes... and cuts off his head... thus regaining her city for her people.
My real name is a derivative of Judith and I use the name judith as my alter ego... but dont worry... Im not that scarey
I just like the painting and story of the femme fatale. I guess its all wrapped up with the dark fiction I like to read.
I hope one day to sort out the painting as my avatar... if I can find the time to sit down and work out how to do it

A friend of mine had a gaelic wordlist... and one day many years ago he went "HEY, I'VE FOUND A GREAT NAME FOR YOU!" Tallan = (female) freak. Oh yay, I feel so flattered.
But I guess I survived the initial shock, since I've been using it ever since... Never think about what it means anymore. It's just a name. My name.

*grin* It kinda made me do a double-take when I first saw your name, Tallan...my boyfriend always uses the name "Tallin" online, so I thought that was what your name was (and then my slow computer finally loaded your avatar and I knew I had it wrong
)

I picked my name because none other fit quite as well. I think it describes me well enough, it has my real first name in it, and I like it. Want more? Okay; I'm tenacious like a weed, I am silly as all hell, until I lose my temper, then watch out; roaring lion time. I also like to cross-dress, wag my tail and paint my claws red; but that's another story.

A bit of a mixture and a lot of me - be true...
I decided I wanted something of my own as well as include two or more TCOTC characters/creatures mixed in. {I would add more but it is long enough you see} Thus; Khatalenabwraith, White Gold Wielder::
This is as close as I can get to who I am.

I chose mine because it refers to some lines in Babylon 5, which is my favorite SF tv series. It also relates to cryptography and <gasp> ABBA.
Rather ambiguous and.............. I like that !

I always include my first name in my message board screen-names. Hurtloam is a cool word. Uh, I figure it's not totally imaginative, but I'll get used to it.
Anyone with real time to help a newbie? Help me set up my pics and stuff - what are they called, those signature pics that show up under your name.
I used to belong to another message board years back and had them, but forgot how to do it.

The pics that show up under your name, and the signature that shows up under your post, can be set up, or changed, by clicking on the "My Profile" link in the "menu" under the banner at the top of the page.
You can also click on the "Shop" link to set up the effects for displaying your name, (colour, shadow, glow, etc.) and to buy yourself a custom title, or whatever other cool stuff may be left in the shop.
(Thats what the WGD are for.)
Welcome aboard Steve. Hope you have as much fun here as we do.
