So this is my first time on the discussion board. I'm a huge SRD fan! I've read the 1st and 2nd Chronicles at least a dozen times, as well as the Mordant books and the Gap Cycle. Stephen's writing style transports me right into the heart of the stories, and I get something new out of every story, every time I read it.
Greetings fellow Stephen R Donaldson fans. I have been a fervent fan since the early 80's, starting with the Covenant trilogies. Really enjoyed Mirror of Her Dreams/A Man Rides Through, and thought it was a very refreshingly different take on the fantasy genre, with Donaldson's signature creation of great three-dimensional characters. I am probably the biggest fan of the Gap series to be found, and think it is one of the finest works of science fiction of my lifetime. Along with most people here I was both shocked and elated last year to find that Donaldson had written another Covenant novel and was planning on writing three more as well. I was not disappointed in the least with Runes of the Earth and it felt both comfortingly familiar and envigoratingly new at the same time. The wait for the next book is killing me though, just like it did between Gap novels. I am grateful to have found this site, though, and maybe discussing the works of my favorite author with fellow fans will help pass the time and make the wait more bearable.

actually, my sn is taken from a series of books that is one of my all time favorites, and i have used it since first joining the online community about 10 years ago. also, while reading an interview of SRD's not too long ago, he revealed that the author who wrote that series, Patricia McKillip, is one of his all time favorite fantasy authors as well.
