Just picked up my copy today at the local "Media Play" store. I am particularly pleased as I was able to obtain a signed copy at the same price as an unsigned one. They had two signed copies and they were both still just sitting there when I arrived. Thank god the store doesn't see much traffic or I might have missed this great opportunity! Lucky me!
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. If anyone would like a signed copy I could pick up the other one and ship it to them. Anyone? Anyone...

Dilemma solved. I stopped by Books A Million last night; they had two copies and I bought one. As my eldest kid would say, "It's *shiny*." (That means "new and oh-so-cool" in her language.)

And I'm hauling arse through the Tamora Pierce book so that I can start Runes soonest.

I dunno. I just feel calmer, knowing it's in the house. Even if I haven't started it yet. Weird....

<sigh>

I know - I started this countdown based on SRD's statements at Bubonicon (as quoted by Danlo) that despite what the websites were saying, Runes would not be released until October 21st.

Originally I was just trying to drum up the excitement and anticipation of the Watch for the book, and I thought a countdown would be fun

That was before copies started showing up everywhere. I actually got mine a week ago yesterday.

So should I stop the Countdown? No, because that would make Darth happy, and I can't abide not irritating him whenever possible. :twisted: ;)

I will stop if you all want me to, though.

UK TCTC fans,

Waterstones in Leeds are saying the release date has been put back to early November. :x

I'm not sure if he was looking at the Waterstones slipcase edition, which I think is @ 11 November.

Anyone know if the UK date is still 21st?

Lucky buggers. In fact, to be honest, I don't even know when it's coming out here. Better start keeping an eye out for it soon.

Enjoy everybody.
