Yesterday night (GMT time), at the EPICon in Portland, they announced the EPPIE 2008 winners for the various categories... Joy attended also on my behalf, since it would have been a little difficult for me to go there. Today when I woke up I found an e-mail from her in my mailbox, saying that North Star is officially the winner of the EPPIE 2008 award for best fantasy novel!!!!

This is incredibly exciting. It's the only time in my life that I've willingly given a speech, even though it was less than a minute long.
