This seems like a good place to say hello. I came across this site last night while browsing, and decided to join.
I'm a long time fan of SRD. It's a pleasure to meet other fans. I read the First Chronicles when 17, and the Second as they were published when I was in college.
I'll be browsing around, adding comments when I have something to say, keeping quiet when I don't.
I'm sure I'll be conversing with some of you soon....

I'm "gone"...
...mere months (nothing like the four thousand or so the TC was MIA from The Land) and look at all the new faces!
They are all grizzled veterans by now, but I'll say hello to all and welcome!

Chronicles of TC question
I have always wondered if there was some kind of
illustrated compendium of all of the characters that
existed in the TC series....I would love to see graphic
illustrations of what beings such as 'Urviles' and the
'Amok' character would actually look like, for instance....
I've read the series twice, first time in the late 80's
then once again ten years ago.

There is another old timer who has just returned. I have been away for a number of months working and just got back a couple of days ago. I am in the process of getting myself back into the swing of things and now I find out that there is a whole new rogue's gallery of people that I am going to have to learn! But I am glad to see that the forum is expanding at the rate that it has! And most of all, boy is it good to be back!

ok, i used to be a linguist. i'll see if i can decipher this one.
Hi. I thought it about time I posted here. If you can't tell, my keyboard is freaking out. maybe because i spilled soup on it.
I will have to get a new keyboard soon.
Could someone please explain the (darn?) points thing to me? [what are] the points for?
Maybe I should just ask when my keyboard has (fixed?) itself.
My computer sucks. I don't like it.
Enough. It will be up and running again soon... i hope.
Oh yeah, and Sylvanus is the coolest guy ever.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
