Hello

Post by theurgy »

I just finished Fatal Revenant and need someone with whom I can discuss the ending, so I joined Kevin's Watch and the Fatal Revenant discussion group. I first read the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant lo! these many years ago and recall being among the first to check The Wounded Land out of the library. I have not read any other SRD series (though I did read the book of short stories that came out after the first Chronicles). I probably should admit that while I think the concept of the various Chronicles is brilliant, I have a difficult time with the (too often poor) quality of the writing. I will save my specific comments for the proper threads, though! Thanks for being here, where I can share my frustrations with and enjoyment of these books!

Be Welcome to the Watch, theurgy. Be Well Come and True.

Difficult time with the quality of writing, eh? Sounds like you may be a controversial figure around here. Have fun stirring the pot!

Hail and welcome theurgy.
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

CJ, are you dissin' the 'Tank without even coming in for a dip?

I have to say, I came for the Covenant, and stayed for the (comparatively) polite and intelligent political debates we have in the Think Tank. Yeah, we get a little out of hand over there, but there's a stunning lack of people posting their ignorance and venting their spleens while continually in CAPS LOCK, so it's definitely a step or a zillion above just about every other political thread out there -- and we are in continual need of fresh bloo- er, I mean cannon fod- I mean...

Newbies, get over to the 'Tank and tell us what you think.

We don't bite.

Much.

I'm going to try lurking around there for a bit, I'm not sure if I'd be a worthy contributer to the game. But I am watching............

While I took part in the planning of the game before the First Age, lurking is what I did for the majority.

Be forewarned... :)

Prebe, Plissken, I was poking fun. You guys know I love a bit of teasing once in a while. Above that you guys know I respect you all and and admire you all and well, Prebe, you I hug, especially, nothing against you Pliss but thanks to the tank and the galley and other stuff, I have a "special" love for Prebe. ;). He knows of what I speak. Anyway, I dip my toes on occasion. I haven't lately cuz I've been hellaciously swamped at work and I am temporarily bereft of internet in the evening. Tonight, my friend Tad is kind enough to let me use his laptop to delve in. Look, I will make it very clear in this next part:

Dear Noobies,

Hile Troy's Think Tank is a great place to discuss/debate/vent opinions about social and political events/policies/conditions. The tank is full of highly intelligent people who have an amazing variety of views on various issues. If you really want to think and be aware of what is going on in the political and social environment of today's world then the think tank is where you want to be. ;) I will give some noobie advice and say that you should be prepared to back up your stance in the tank. They are smart and nice but they love to debate. It's a rocking place. There are many many amazing people there. I hope you all enjoy.
