First, I'm just curious: is someone so un-busy that they watch everyone to see when they get to the mile high, or is is automated?

Second, I'll be more impressed when someone hits the "kissed a mile high stack of butts" mark [5280 "THANKS!-es]

Third...why doesn't someone create a "Junk post" button?

Vraith, are you asking whether the title you get at 1K is automated? (If so, then yes.)

I know I have always wondered who actually sits and watches posts counts. I congratulate those who reach a miles stone, but more often than not it is in response to someone else congratulating a Watcher for it first. I just do not pay attention to that stuff necessarily.

I don't think anybody watches them. They just mention it if they happen to notice.

Congrats Menolly.

Congrats on Gaining(?) on Avatar. I believe your 17,000 was closer to half of Avatar's count than your 18,000 is, No?

No, I don't generally notice these thigns either, but, I think I recall commenting on Menolly's last Milestone in relation to Avatar's count, and Menolly's count was dominated heavier by Avatar. Heh, I didn't notice my post count until someone wished me 3K

Congratulations, Menolly. If you had been more patient, you might not have had to be the first to point out that you'd cleared another hurdle. :P

I knew about the title...but I happened to glance at some peoples post totals the other day, and suddenly had a vision of a bunch of Watchers, who shall remain nameless, sitting around in a room getting fatter and fatter, hot-keying emoticons, strategizing in chat bane, "Mod-delete in 3-2-1." "Insert spoiler tag and deliver warning message." And far away, in a lonely basement, a pasty figure snoring loudly in an ergonomically designed chair is awakened by the roar of klaxon, and a synthesized voice "Alert, Alert, 5000 posts, 5000 posts!" The figure, barely rousing, types

Sadly, Vraith, I don't think your scenario is too far off the mark....
