Four years on from the last time this topic was used, I've been looking at my unread pile again, and this time I've pulled out some other statistics about the books and authors in a blog post.
In summary: 72 books, 41 of which were on my last post above; mostly novels, mostly by American and British writers, and mostly male writers. Far too boring, really.
I think my tbr pile is currently two novels by women, two anthologies, and three magazines. I'd feel worse about the lack of male writers in there, but I figure I've more than made up for it over the course of my reading life.

I've stopped trying to quantized my to-read pile. It's just too big. Right now, I'm making a concentrated effort to get it under control by getting rid of all those Stephen King books I bought because they were a buck but I'm never going to read, but that's just a dent, my friend.
