I paid $2.17 in Roanoke over the weekend. That was soooo sweet.

Hmm, I guess it depends on which conspiracy theory you subscribe to. Either the Republicans are keeping it low so people will like them better, or the Republicans are keeping it high so that we'll be more inclined to vote for "Drill baby drill!" McCain/Palin....

Hyperception made me a promise, back when gas was around $3.65/gallon, that if it ever went back down under $2.00/gallon, he would strip naked and dance under a gas station sign displaying the price for $1.99/gallon.
He was that sure it would never go below $2.00/gallon again...

...time to start investigating those disposable video cameras...

I paid $1.99/gallon at Costco this morning. Filled the tank for less than 20 bucks!

It's 1.85 here. That's 2004 prices! How low will it go? Predictions? I think it may get to 1.50.
How long it stays low depends on how long demand stays low. In the current global economy, that might be a while. Retail numbers don't look good. But if it stays low long enough, demand will rise.
Does anyone remember in 1998 when it dipped down to 0.88?

It never got that low here, I think we were hovering just over a buck a gallon.Malik23 wrote:Does anyone remember in 1998 when it dipped down to 0.88?
We're still around $2.10 here, I'd love to see it go lower.
That said, if it stays cheap, usage is going to go back up.

I *know* I've whined about this here previously: Just before we left Denver in February 1999, I was paying 78 cents a gallon for gas. It popped up to 83 cents a gallon a week or two before we left to return to the East Coast, and I thought I was being gouged. Little did I know....Cail wrote:It never got that low here, I think we were hovering just over a buck a gallon.Malik23 wrote:Does anyone remember in 1998 when it dipped down to 0.88?

The cheap gas place dropped to $1.99 over the weekend. I assume that means Costco will be lower by a couple of pennies. I'll have to fill up again tomorrow or the next day, so I'll soon know for sure!
I heard on the radio this morning that orders for bigger vehicles are increasing again.
