Oh I have it

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.
~fly fly little wing, fly where only angels sing~
~this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you~
...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've been a long time SRD fan... I think I first started LFB around the time The One Tree was released in hardback, so I must've first read the books around '82 or so in my early teens.
SRD's writing had a profound effect on me and he was definitely the main reason I wanted to become a writer. My own writing has gravitated more toward magic realism (ie, Jonathan Carroll, John Crowley, Jose Saramago, etc), but I keep promising myself to write a honking huge fantasy epic ala Donaldson, Erickson, Martin, etc (I can dream, can't I?)
Anyway, the main reason why I registered was to ask if any regulars here were going to see SRD at the Bubonicon in Albuquerque this weekend. I'm flying in from Phoenix and I'm stoked to finally meet the man!

Hail, Ringthane. Yep, danlo's also going... you lucky dogs. Two heads are better than one, I say... especially when said two heads bring back twice the reports, notes, and answers to questions.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

As my subject line reads I'm a new member but I've been lurking for
a year or more enjoying the comments and eagerly following the revelations regarding The Last Chronicles!

You lurkers amaze me, and I mean that in an entirely complimentary way. I can never keep my mouth shut, so I've never been a very good lurker.
Welcome, all.

Welcome, all.
