Welcome to the Watch Jody. Join in anywhere. But, as WF pointed out, beware spoilers in all the Chronicles forums.

And make sure you find the Gap series too. ;)

Thank you all, for your warm welcome. It´s nice to feel at home right away.

I´ll be carefull to look out for spoilers, and try to sparkle as much as I can. :S
We all struggle to find the right path in life. It´s not always easy to know what that is - or where it will lead us. In the end it´s the people in our lives that provide us the balance to help us make it through.

Hello to all

Post by Illioas the Eternal »

I gather this is the place to gather to hear new tales.

It was many years ago that I was introduced to Thomas Covenant and his adventures in the Land (which I have read several times over my life) and quite recently I mentioned to a good friend that I was planning on reading the series again when went to his book shelf and handed me a copy of the Rune of the Earth.

I was flabbergasted to say the least to find that I not only did not know that yet more tales were told of Thomas Covenant, but that my friend had left me in the dark assuming that I knew the tale had grown.

I do plead that when the Runes of the Earth was published I was between travels in Bosnia, Panama and then to Iraq so my access to reading material was somewhat smaller than normal for me. I rushed out to purchase both The Runes of the Earth and Fatal Revenant and I am about to the end of the latter volume, when I started to search out the final book, which lead me here.

I wish to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to become a member of this website as I have found the older I get the more I would like to try my hand at becoming a writer for I have been many things in my life and I feel I have a story to tell, yet I have always felt I lacked the skill to do so.

Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to join.
I read the adventure, and then I lived the adventure, one day I wish to acquire the skill to write the adventure.

I have been many things in my life, child, father, student, and teacher, janitor, movie usher and popcorn popper, bus driver, discipline coordinator for a school district, homeless, and rich, retired once, and working again, married, divorced and married again. I have been and aircraft mechanic, helicopter door gunner, aviation life support equipment repairer, soldier. I have seen my children and grandchildren born and have buried my oldest son as a causality of the same war I fought.

Welcome, Illioas. And don't feel bad about missing the publication of Runes and FR -- SRD's publisher didn't exactly do a bang-up job of publicizing the books here in the States. Lots of folks here just stumbled across them in a bookstore.

I am hoping your perusal of the Watch has led you to the knowledge that the Last Chrons is a four-part series, instead of a trilogy. There will be one more forthcoming, tentatively titled The Last Dark, after AATE.

I look forward to reading your posts in the various forums.

I love that thread, always fun reading. The most recent Top 10 Contest has great entries

Is the General Public allowed to vote, or just the participating members of the thread?

Anyone and everyone!

Jenn posted because way said the following...

Audience, it's time to participate by voting for the Survivor who you think did the best this round.

Vote for two. Krazy Kat's two votes count double, each.

And pass it on. Audience participation has been low. Go tap some shoulders, tweet some tweets, and book some faces.

I would like to have enough votes by Friday to evict another Survivor.

See... I didn't read the opening posts well enough to determine WHO "Audience" is. Now I understand it's the entire Audience, not just the Studio Audience  I have my vote in hand

Hello all!

Post by na-Mhoram's Grim »

My brother gave me the first chronicles for christmas this year. He hasn't read them but a friend told him about them, and he thought I would be interested. He couldn't have been more dead on! I just finished the second chronicles last week, and am starting in on The Runes of the Earth.

Wow, what an amazing journey. Nothing, (well since LOTR) has kept me coming back and enjoying a series so much. I have been a lurker on here for the last few months, and thought it was finally time to say hello. More posts to come, but for now I have to go to class!

Can't wait to get to know everyone, but beware - The Sunbane is back in the land!

Oh crap! You changed your name from na-Mhoram's Grim to Sunbane while I wasn't watching and I went to all the trouble to bring Grim all the way over here?

Haha I was only na-Mhoram's Grim for about 10 seconds, I was just wondering if it was free! You caught me in the act. I can't decide which I like better!

Welcome to the Watch, na-Mhoram's Grim. May your steamy black flakes rain down upon our many topics, and poke holes in our thinking. Just please don't rend our souls, we need them to pay for our guilt.
