Be Welcome to the Watch, elksabe.
Be Well Come and True.
As I have not finished AATE yet, I have not gone in to that forum. Please explore the rest of the Watch as well; we have topics to cover nearly anything. I look forward to reading your posts throughout.

Hi to Elkasabe. I decided you were all right and have re-invested in new copies of the First & Second Chronicles (my original copies disappeared years ago). Already hooked - but how much easier are the old books to read than the new? I always feel like I have to sit with a Theosaurus with the Last Chronicles. The dissections are interesting. I might throw my hat in the ring if I get adventurous! Thanks to all well wishers offering guidance.

Oh, I have always needed a dictionary when reading the chrons, from LFB forward. I must admit learning here about the Stephen R. Donaldson Ate My Dictionary site has helped tremendously, when I make the effort to look a word up instead of glossing over it...Seadreamer26 wrote:but how much easier are the old books to read than the new? I only ever look up words on re-reads- first time through, I gloss. Too exciting.
But I agree with Seadreamer, as verbose as all of Donaldson's books are,the Last Chronicles are definitely the most dense work of his I've read.

I agree- we don't want to be attracting any Twilight fans!

Indeed. Since no actual "vampires" exist in the Land, we'd soon have sparkly, bishounen Giant fan-characters running all over the place, not to mention shirtless Stonedownors turning into kresh.sgt.null wrote:ugh and double ugh.Cambo wrote:I agree- we don't want to be attracting any Twilight fans!
(Also welcome new folks.)
Eh...It's a Covenent/Donaldson site, how else would you greet new folks coming to the Land?sgt.null wrote:maybe not the best way to get new folks?sindatur wrote:Welcome New Folks, always good to have new blood
