adn now a moment to introduce non-Canadians to another part of Canada via a joke: Saskatchewan.

The Junos were held in Saskatoon over the weekend. The host city was gracious and excited to host Canada's premier music event. And even after all the awards have been handed out and the award winners drive away, the people of Saskatoon won't lose sight of them for another 3 days.
<cue rim shot>

;)

(p.s. Saskatchewan is VERY flat....)

Isn't that the first line to Corner Gas...?

Did you see the Juno's?

Did you see Nelly Furtado?

I'ce actually never seen the show myself..but I know the theme song says something about watching your dog run away for three days.
AS for the Junos..
I only saw a few bits and peices of them...not only was Nelly Furtado HOT..she was quite funny; and made fun of herself a lot.

They were much better than last year's when they were held here in Hali--With Pam Anderson as the host (Just because she was born here does NOT make her a Canadian) and they had great Canadian acts playing like the Black Eyed Peas an Coldplay.

Well Happy Victoria Day everyone.

Is it just an east coast thing, or does everyone call it the may 2-4 weekend?

We like to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday in the same way she did.
By drinking beer and having barbecues.

Actually; my lovely bride went away for the weekend to Moncton; leaving me with those kids of ours, so I figured I wouldn't get overy drunk. (Went to a party on Friday though, tied a good jag on, but I was home by 11:00--not hungover saturday at all...well maybe a little)

No Barbecues either, as it has been raining here since Monday or tuesday last week...good for the well...good for the Lawn...not good for outdoor cooking.

MMan, 'Siv, what did yous guys do for the long weekend?

we had a great long weekend. Saturday and Sunday were at a friend's place in teh middle of nowhere, but in a large, beautiful house with some great ammenities. We thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. Then Monday went over to my sister in law's place and drank a few bottles of wine on their patio and talked ahlf the day away, then went back to our place for an impromptu BBQ and drank and talked some more...

Yah, everyone calls it the May 2-4 weekend ... heheheh

Happy (belated) holiday, gentlemen! We have Memorial Day coming up next weekend. . . and it sounds as though most people in the states will celebrate in the same manner as you celebrate Victoria Day. :)

Well boys; I hope you both had agreat weekend.

'Siv, how was the camping?

MM..how was the 'Peg (boring I'll bet :D )

My wife worked most of the weekend, but all of us were together on Monday..didn't do much; just hung out drank some beers and we all tried not to get on eachothers nerves too much.

Looking at a calender...next year's gunna suck; since it's a leap year, the Holiday will be on Tuesday.

Lately it's been hot and humid here, Drew. Didn't mingle much with the rabble on C-Day. Next year's falls on Tuesday? Bah! Stupid leap year. (No offense to anyone here born in a leap year.)

Actually, the real fun for me (I hope) will be this upcoming weekend, when I'll be attending the Winnipeg Folk Festival just outside the city. Of course, all this hot weather could mean thundershowers, which would turn the festival site into a mud bowl. Don't want that.

Oops, sorry I didn't check here, guys. Folkfest came and went and yes, gentlemen, a good time was had by all. Great lineup of artists! Discovered some that have become instant favorites, and re-discovered others whom I had known only vaguely before. The weather cooperated, too - no rain all four days. I posted a few pics in the "What did you do on the weekend?" thread in Gen Disc. I'll afflict the Watch with some more pics soon. :)

Hapyy Thanksgiving guys.

Usivius, I hope your time in Equador was great (it's too bad you had to spend it with IN-LAWS!! )

MM-I hope the three day weekend was well deserved, and quite enjoyable.-Are the leaves changing in the praries yet? I'm sure if they are, you've got some good shots.
