Greetings, MrPib.

Well, certainly, I do know what happened...
Spoiler
But not telling

But I'm not the one who was ordering the newbie around...

If ya get a chance, Morinmossy, perhaps you'd like to leaf some esoterica in fern, or myrtle, or even chartreuse across the attire or avatar of dear old LF...just to give him something to think about.

P.S. LF....it isn't purple, it is indigo. sheesh.
Morinmoss is no newbie in the Land, and well knows how to react to Lord Foul (unless already evaporated under the Sunbane), and if you don't play with us, then how did you expect orders like that to work, a human somewhere behind a computer extending tree branches and painting someone of the other Watchers with those? And if not, then he was "forbidden" something he was not able to do anyway, like I can forbid you tearing tigers into halves with bare hands. Same goes for your order, tree green won't stick to my power aura :P

P.S. Google purple, you might be surprised...

Indigo 'sheesh? Is that slang for Indica Hashish?
Well played.

I put a lot of time and effort into making that coat look exactly like that. These days it takes only a little maintenance but I can keep it looking just like that on purpose.
Right, I know you do that on purpose, exactly why I asked about the green marks - what do you think, are they going to ruin the attire with an accurate pattern? Or can they just get lost in all the stains? I'm curious about the reason you mentioned those here in the first place.

Actually, this is an interesting thought. There might appear to be some similarity between the stains some people recieved from the trees and from the grass, and that attire, SRD did pay special attention to it, maybe like some kind of a special mark.

Ah, one more week, Lord Foul, before you get what's coming to you!

At least I hope you do! Can you believe it's this close?

I've preordered the Kindle version but will be traipsing down to the local bookstore for the hardback.

Those stains have been bugging me for over 20 years now. They mean something and I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Everyone who receives those marks manages to achieve some sort of victory over Despite.

Now that I started with this train of thought... I think I see some similarity

An actual spoiler this time, but not TLD, for the end of the Gap Cycle instead - I figure the new people haven't read it yet.
Spoiler
After I mentioned the similarity between these stains in the Chrons and those stains in the Gap, I thought of this: the situation when Hashi can deliver the ultimate speech after all the investigations and gives this possibility to Lane Harbinger instead - won't it be a similar kind of victory? Not a slay-with-a-big-sword one, not an outwit-a-complicated-puzzle one even. A choice strange, unexpected, very importantly, self-defeating in a way, but victorious at the same time - in a way that really mattered.

Not sure even if SRD meant this... at least consciously.

Knowledge not possible to share is surely a mixed blessing. Ah, the pleasure of knowing something the others don't know, the temptation to spill at least some...

But what if I know something you don't? Does the point about patience stand then?

After a couple of years (again), I've been lurking for a couple months (again). I think I am going to really start posting now... so let me say hi once more

I live in NYC, and have been here a long time, but first read SRD when I was about as far as you can be from SRD. One of my clearest reading memories is reading This Day All Gods Die in a tent in a forest in Taiwan, almost 20 years ago now. Never imagined then that I might actually meet SRD -- so will attempt attending Elohimfest if it happens!

Be Welcome (back) to the Watch, Blasius.
Be Well Come and True.

Venture forth and post! Gap fans will love activity in their sub-forum. And check out the other forums as well. I'm sure you'll find non-SRD topics which will also grab your interest. The Watch has topics for everyone!

Now you're not the only one who's going to remeber this, dissections of the Gap cycle are temporarily on hold due to TLD, I do understand that attempts will be rather futile now (though anyone willing to do a chapter or a few is free to do so), but when TLD is dissected, I'm going to return to that question, and I've written down your name

I hope to be part of TLD dissection too, but yes I'd be interested in revisiting the Gap cycle after that. It's been too long since I last reread it!
