Monopoly Challenge 2006
Myself, my girlfriend, my sister and my best friend have decided to set a challenge for ourselves. It's called the Monopoly Challenge 2006.
The Monopoly Challenge 2006 is an undertaking of massive scope. The planning and preparation involved are almost unimaginable! There are a few simple rules:
1) Every space on the classic UK Monopoly board must be visited.
2) They must all be visited within one day.
3) Each board space visited must be clearly recognisable
4) A photo must be taken of each board space. Included in the photo must be one stranger holding a monopoly piece AND at least one member of the Monopoly Challenge team.
There are several more rules, but I don't have the rules sheet with me at the moment.
Anyway, we've set a date (13th September) and planned our route, ordered the Monopoly Challenge T-shirts (You didn't think we'd do this without T-shirts did you?) and booked days off work. This is going to be epic. Photographs will follow afterwards.

The monopoly pub crawl doesn't include all the squares on the board, so our one is better!
We also made our own route plans rather than following some pre-planned nonsense - Much more fun this way!
The planning was no easy thing, John and I (the friend mentioned in the first post) have had two long sessions so far, four hours or more each, and we're not finished yet. (Just the guys doing the planning, don't want the women to mess things up!) We estimate it will take 8 hours in total, possibly more due to the unpredictable nature of getting strangers to hold monopoly pieces next to street signs.

We were a bit worried about that one until we realised: Everyone can park for free on their own driveway, we're just going to get a photo of someone's driveway. It's a bit of a cop-out, but other than that it's going to be impossible

Actually, I had free parking on the street outside my house when I was living in West Ealing. It's Endsleigh Road (W13 0RE is the post code) and it's just inside London as the Middlesex post codes start a few streets away. I'm assuming they haven't introduced permit parking in the couple of years since I left though.Stonemaybe wrote:How are you going to find free parking in London??????
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

We actually found some in West Ham, on our way to the waterworks!

That was actually free parking, unfortunately I managed to foolishly cut off the bit where it said so.
Here are some of my favourites.

If anyone wants to see a particular square, just ask and it will be yours!
As a bonus, me at WADDINGTON ROAD (Waddington's made monopoly boards in the UK)
Waddington's!
