chat room help

I've never visited the chat room and tried the frist time at home tonight, but when i tried to log in I got this message:
Connecting...
Logging in...
-- *** Looking up your hostname...
-- *** Found your hostname, welcome back
-- *** Checking ident
-- *** Got ident response
Error : Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (Invalid username )
Disconnected from kornbluth.freenode.net


Huh?
what am I doing wrong? Do i have to do anything special other than log in...?

I remember others had problems with the chatroom function a while back, so I haven't bothered with it myself. Anyway, Usivius, I tried it just now and I got the same error message.

I've always gone to ChatBane when I wanted to chat around here. It's not the greatest, but it works.

AFAIK, this version of the phpBB doesn't have the fancy chatroom installed at all. I've only eve used the chatbane myself, (at the bottom of the main index page), it's the only one that ever worked for me. :lol:
