pah! no silly pop songs for me (no offence to others who use them .. really, they just drive me nuts... )
I have my daughter's laughter as a ring tone. It's hilarious. I recorded it when she had a little cold and it sounds really funny ..in addition to the usual wonderful sound of a daughter laughing ...

I find the idea of Ring Tones stupid. The idea of a tone is so you can know when someone is ringing you, thus a normal ringing tone is better.
Most these companies rip you off, £5 so my phone plays Led Zeppelin... no thanks. The Ultrasonic ring tone was the biggest rip-off ever.

"Little Sister" by QOTSA. Really wanted "No One Knows" but could only find it in MIDI.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

"Wonderwall" by Oasis is my general tone
"Rocky Mountian High" by John Denver for my mother cause she asked for it... I just answer the phone as quickly as possible when she calls me. (or silence the phone...)
"The Distance" by Cake for my brother
"I don't care" by Ricky Martin- for whoever I'm dating at the time
Mario theme for my gaming friends
"Love song" by 311 for my Daddy.
"Wasted and Ready" by Ben Kweller for my room mate.

I also have La Tortura and The Longest Time on my phone but currently unassigned.

I, uh... have a problem with ring tones. I think it borders on obsession. I'll pretty much give an individual ring tone to any of my friends who I can think of a song for, so... this is only a partial list. It's sad because my phone is on vibrate most of the time, anyway.

My phone just rings. You know...Ring Ring. Sounds like a phone. Tunes/songs/whatever just annoy me.

I do like the idea of using your daughter's laughter. 8)

Mine is just one of the dodgy tunes that came with the phone. One of my friends has a text message tone that says

I've got "Nothing else matters" by Metallica as my ring tone, and "Fat Bottomed girls" as my SMS tone.

I only got my new phone a couple of weeks ago, and haven't fine tuned all the bells and whistles on it, but I'm gonna, as soon as I have a spare day to read through the user manual.

My old phone only beeped and rang so I'm all excited now I've got my new one.

It also helps that I can rip any music from a CD, convert it to an MP3, cut it to what length I want and use that as a tone.

My old phone used to have this screaming cat noise that was awesome and would turn quite a few heads when it would ring while I was on muni. People already look at me because I have a chihuahua in a purse....then when my other bag would start making screaming cat noises they would expect me to pull a cat out of my other bag...hahahahah....I miss that phone.

My old cell has this silly high-pitched giggle with bubble music, but my new phone has Darth Vader saying "If only you knew the power of the Dark Side!"....

I could really do with a ringtone that says "You have grown weak, old man". It's sort of a catchphrase of mine.

I have Peter Gabriel's Solisbury Hill for a few selected friends, other than that just a plain old ring tone.
