Breaking News about The Last Chronicles! (April Fools 2008)

Post by moksha Raver »

Hi!It has been a while since I last posted, but I have some insider information on the Last Chronicles! This is info that will soon be posted on SRD's official website.I was able to get access to it ahead of time. Here is the press release:
Dear friends. I have been living a lie. I believed that starting The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant would respark my passion for the Land. But as the years went by, I realized that it was no longer for me. It came to me whilst I was in the process of beginning Against All Things Ending. While I was sitting in my study working on the book, and the world became crepuscular outside of my window, it all became so clear. I no longer cared about the Land, about Thomas Covenant, and that other girl. I have been writing books all of these years for one sole purpose - the money. And not just money, but a buttload of money.

For that reason, I have decided to get out as fast as I can, and make as much money as humanly possible. I have sold the rights to finish The Last Chronicles to Terry Goodkind. I have met with him briefly a few times, and he seems to care about the series, I guess. But more importantly, he gave me a large pile of money. Which I love.

I trust you will all enjoy The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant just as much with Terry Goodkind at the helm. Now with that, I'm off to Hawaii!

SRD
WOW!What a shocker! Now,I have also hacked into Terry Goodkind's website and have uncovered what appears to be his plans for the Last Chronicles. It seems like he is preparing to increase the length of the Last Chronicles to encompass 17 books, with the titles:

The Runes of the Earth
Fatal Revenant
Against All Things Ending
The Sword of Belief
Soul of the Sword
Blood of the Hero
Faith of the One
The Word of the Weird
The Weird of the Wurm
The Wurd of the Word
The Temple of Sorrow
The Path of the Chosen
Ghosts
The Sword of Power
The Ring of Eternity
The Lute of Forgiveness
The Last Dark

Not only that, but I found the cover art for the next book hidden on his website:

Wowee! At first I will admit that I was a little disappointed. But I am a huge fan of Terry Goodkind, and I trust that he will make the Last Chronicles even awesomer than before!!!

Looks like I'll be forced to read Terry Goodkind after all. Hellfire and bloody damnation, SRD!

17 books, eh? Incredible. Maybe they should think about renaming it The Wheel of Covenant.

I say that's Joan on the cover...and it looks like she's been made a Forestal! I mean, look, she's got that glow around her. The plot thickens.

Yeah. . . it got me too. I don't like jokes about serious things. . . I was truly bummed until I realized it. That's what I get for not paying attention to the date.

A few things didn't add up for me. But I thought that surely the person in question wouldn't play such a cruel joke: promising such things to die-hard SRD fans and then not coming through with the goods!!!

That's not Joan. Wynona Rider got leprosy shortly after receiving a white gold engagement ring.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Hey, for a last minute joke, I thought it wasn't too bad, heh.

I was also thinking about making just the cover art the joke, but I couldn't resist poking fun at Terry Goodkind.-jay
