Where would herb fit in with the harmony of The Land?

I have read SRD since Covenant was created in the 70's. I too am waiting on his next release. Once again reading through from the start of book one traveling through the ages to Revenant creates a clear picture in my minds eye where some things may have been lost. I have always felt SRD left out the obviously much needed buzzzz. Who cultivated crop and who distributed its product? Where would this bud be lovingly harvested?
Would its "power" be equal to any other they seek? Spring wine would have been complimented by a burning rolie! I for one can only imagine the colorful sticky. :> Room

The sun of fertility would grow a bountious crop ... then the desert sun would spark it up ... ah, the Land!

The Clave would reveal that the rukhs are nothing more than giant magical roach clips. And Nom would divert the waters of Glimmermere into Revelstone, turning the Close with its Banefire into a giant water pipe. Coursers would be friendly.

Well, we can assume that the people of the Land are familiar with intoxication, afterall, they have wine of sorts. I don't recall what other references were made to alcoholic beverages.

And I have no doubt that the Land would be condign to crops of remarkable...potency...
