Robotech

Post by jacob Raver, sinTempter »

Wayyy back when I was a wee lad of 15, my mom bought me a book that looked interesting called, "The Devil's Hand" by Jack McKinney, part of the Robotech: Sentinels saga. OMFAdolescense!!! was it great and I preceded to collect all but a few novels in the then 18 book saga.

Many years later (tonight) I saw Jeff Russell's spaceship comparison website and laid eyes on the SDF-1 and 3...nostalgia set in and I Wiki'd Robotech, going over the stories and characters. Oooohs, gasps...Rick Hunter, Sterling's, the Regis, Zentraidi, Minmei! (quiver)

I'm thinking about rereading them as the ideas and characters still resonate...but I'm worried about the depth of the books as a 31 year old now.

Anyone else read em?

Used to watch the animated series as a kid, but never really got into it. Good animation though. Never knew they were books.

Yepper...a couple things were changed (for the better, at least for Americans, IMHO). Great fun stuff. Perfect for a 14/15 y.o. guy.
