Log in weirdness
Lately when I access the main site, it shows me as not logged in, although I check the box to keep me logged in. So I think my browser is blocking something - but then I click on a forum instead of logging in, and it shows me as already logged in!
Any tech whizzes have a clue as to why that might be and what to do about it?

Interesting, the being kept logged in never seemed to work for me... maybe it always had, I don't know, but I'll be interested to find out the answer!

Firefox and yes. I had not allowed 3rd party cookies, and made an exception for kevinswatch.com. I am now trying kevinswatch.ihugny.com as well.Avatar wrote:What browser are you using? Have you updated it recently or changed any of the settings?

I'm curious to know why the site redirects and what the ihugny is necessary for...

See if changing your cookie settings makes a difference. It might be that you're not keeping the cookies from the forum. Or it may be that you're caching the index page in its un-logged in state. If just accepting the cookies doesn't work, try clearing your cache.
The main site, and the forum, are hosted in two different places, hence the redirect.
I never arrive via the main site...my bookmark is straight to the forum index page. Another thing you can try is going straight to the forum.
Lemme know if it works.

There's a main site? What? Where?

I haven't looked at it in months.....
I wonder what a new member thinks when seeing it for the first time?
Do they realize that there is even a fantastic MASSIVE discussion forum?
I think it needs to be highlighted more.
rusmeister, my Firefox did that for a few months a year ago.
I never did find out what the reason was.
I assume it was either a Windows update or a Firefox update that fixed it.

Making an exception for ihugny cookies didn't help, either.

I'll give it a shot next time around. Thanks!Avatar wrote:And have you tried going straight to the forum url, instead of the .com site? (And logging in there, ticking the "remember me" option.)

Nope. No change. I don't allow 3rd party cookies but have listed kw and ihugny as "allow" with no effect.

Come on, was I supposed to let this opportunity go???

Seriously, it gets weirder. From the first page (the general site, before the forum page), when I click directly on the forum link I get that I am not logged in. But when I open in a different tab/window, it says I AM logged in.
