Some weird fantasy picture my kids found someplace on the internet, of a cat looking down into a lair of some antlike monsters.

Mine is the Arabic word, Insh'Allah, (that is, in the Arabic script) in psychadelic swirls on a black background. It translates as "If it be the will of god."

Essentially, it's the Islamic way of saying Sh*t Happens, and amuses me no end.

I have a virgin forest - trees covered in moss, and dark.

My school computer came with a default US Flag desktop. I thought that was redundant with the physical flag in the room, so I changed my desktop to the NV flag.

A nice background I found on XPThemes.com called "Gear Factory". As the name suggests, it's a 3D rendering of a factory full of gears with electricity crackling everywhere.

This place meets all my desktop wallpaper needs:

www.digitalblasphemy.com/dbhome.shtml

I usually use this one:

www.digitalblasphemy.com/dbgallery/2/trinity2k2.shtml

But right now I'm using:

www.digitalblasphemy.com/dbgallery/2/gazebo2k3.shtml

Pretty spiffy.

I must be the only person here running XP in classic mode with a black background. You would, too, if your video card was fried.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
-George Steiner
