Should we try for a 2006 Elohimfest?

Post by duchess of malfi »

Since some of the mods are getting together to tour NYC and eat a lot of ice cream in about a week, I thought now might be a good time to ask if people might be interested in having an Elohimfest sometime in 2006?

This is obviously not a promise or a plan.

It's merely to see if there is any interest or not. 8)

Among other factors, Danlo is now extremely busy with graduate school, as he was not in the summer of the first Elohimfest.

And who knows if Mr. Donaldson would ever be interested in doing something like that again or not? :?

But if there seems to be a huge public outcry and demand, maybe we can talk about it next week over bowls of ice cream from Cold Stone or something. If we're not too busy, of course.

I'm definitely in, only awaiting details. As you may recall, the only thing that kept me away from the last one was the fact that my wife was due baby Rachel the week after Elohimfest 2004.

I sort of doubt I will be able to go myself, if there is one (I'm the "maybe" person in the poll answers). :( But we can all be there in spirit. :) And you can be there in spirit in New York City, too, of course. You can eat some ice cream in our honor the first Saturday in August.

Well, the one next week will be in New York. 8) There's a couple of threads in this forum about it. :)

I would think any in 2006 would be in Albuquerque, if people would wish to invite SRD. :? But Danlo is so busy these days with grad school and the babies, I don't know if he could participate. :?

If people don't care about inviting SRD, it could probably be anywhere people are willing/able to gather. 8)

I am almost embarrassed to post a reply -- I keep saying I'm gonna come to one of these, and then financial reality and life in general catch up to me, and the most I can muster is the Elohimbrunch in my backyard. So this time I will try to be more honest with myself: Things look bad until fall 2007, when youngest daughter goes away to college.

OTOH, that might fit in with the release of Fatal Revenant rather nicely....

So then Elohimfest 2006 will be in Alexandria, VA. Solves that problem, eh? :)

What MM said. (And I've been looking for an excuse to try a really easy ice-cream recipe, so will test it on Saturday and think of you all. ;) )

I'm in if it's in NM. I've been looking for an excuse to go back to the area so I can have a green chili burger. :P Realistically, of course, work and school and $$ will dictate what I do next summer. *pout*

Only if I can come this time. All that fun without me? Outrageous!
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.

I would love to, but I may be pushing it with the convention this year. I suppose it would depend on many things inclusing child support, income tax return, other income, etc.
If women were in charge, the military would have to do bake sales in order to buy more weapons.

What month? I've been mulling over going over to Paris for a few days sometime next year.

If you decide to go, be sure to call and talk to my older son. I'm sure he could give you a million useful hints. Hell, he'd sneak over in your luggage if he could think of a way. He is in love with Paris. :)

We haven't talked about any Elohimfests as of yet. We've been too busy partying.
