Ah, another Star Trek predicted device becomes a reality. Well sort of but its a start. Once we've improved the translator to the point that it can translate the vocalizations of apes and dolphins into the King's english then we'll be ready for aliens. Very cool technology.

Of course the single flaw if you're looking for a unversal translator is that this requires a detailed knowledge of the language being used, and in this case refers heavily to a database of statistical data compiled from published written material in that language.
