Movie music

Post by ramus »

Anyone have any ideas on this. I for one think the intro should be along the music and rythm of MC Hammer and You can't touch this. Except the lyrics are "Don't touch me"

I been around the land
with just a half hand

oh oh ooh oh oh oohh

Don't touch me

What does rap have to do with movie music discussion? Rap is not music! ;)

I think the "real world" scenes should be WITHOUT music and use only incidental sounds like traffic hum. Then in the Land we can have music but I'm thinking something more along the lines of classical. Something like rap or metal would be obviously unsuitable since they don't fit with the setting and I think we want a serious movie.

I think music and color should be used to emphasize the special-ness of the Land and the difference between leprosy and non-leprosy. In addition to the music angle I have talked about, I think the "real world" should use washed-out colors and the Land saturated colors tinted into various shades depending on the mood of the place.

While on the whole I think that a TC soundtrack ought to be ambient, instrumental, classical stuff (probably along the lines of the LOTR soundtrack in feel), I think Lord Foul's theme should be some crushing black metal. That said... a prog soundtrack could be cool ;)

Also, I think this song is pretty much perfect for Covenant waking up on Kevin's Watch and seeing the Land for the first time.

Yeah, I like that idea...the washed out colours in the real world anyway. The use of colour tinting to shade a scene is easily overdone. But I could see a delicate green, barely noticable, for Morrinmoss, maybe the usual blue for Revelstone and red for Ridjeck Thome...it's a fine line though...the technique is over-used IMHO.

Please don't hurt 'em, Bannor.

Re: Nerdanel's post -- yes, that's roughly how I imagine the movie, too.
