anyone else here enjoy her work? i am partial to her early stuff, waaay back with the original "Witch World" series. i would love to see a cinematic adaptation of those with Viggo Mortensen as Simon Tregarth.

I recall reading Witch World and enjoying it (but ask me details and I can't give you any). I also recall reading the next 2 books in that series and not enjoying them at all. Also read a book based on some D&D thing, where players became their characters, or something like that.

I have been meaning to read her Beastmaster stories for a million years. I have heard that they are quite good.

the order of the series is as follows, i am pretty sure, and while not on the level of SRD or Tolkien, is pretty good sci-fi/fantasy, if somewhat pulp at times, and if you like good, fun escapist fare you should check them out. Norton does a pretty good job of continually expanding the world she creates in the first book. you have to remember, she was writing sci-fi fantasy back when women weren't supposed to be writing it, hence the male nom de plume, Andre Norton, she used to satisfy her publishers who were so sure that people wouldn't buy sci-fi fantasy written by a woman.

BeastMaster and the sequel, (something about Thunder, Lord of Thunder maybe?) were great. I never really got into the Witchworld books, but her childrens books were really good, and I thoroughly enjoyed them all.

One in particular about a post-apocalyptic earth, and mutated survivors...Star People? Something like that. It's been a long time.

Not familiar with them I'm afraid. Only remember the first 2 or so Witchworld books. And the only title I remember of them is Web of the Witchworld or something.
