New Comic Book/Anime/Manga/Comic Strip/Cartoons Forum?

Post by dANdeLION »

Okay, here's most of the talk that occured over the last month concerning the possibility of a Comic Forum:
Queeaqueg wrote:Anime and Comic Forum

High Lord Tolkien wrote:I'd like a comic book forum too, btw.
kevinswatch wrote: A Comic Book/Anime/Manga/Comic Strip/Cartoons Forum is probably a good idea.
Alynna Lis Eachann wrote:I vote for a Comic Book/Anime/Manga/Comic Strip/Cartoons Forum also.
Lord Mhoram wrote:Oh I've wanted a comic book forum too! Great idea.

Spring wrote:comics are enough, but a humour forum is not needed.
Syl wrote:The Comics/Anime/etc forum sounds good.
Queeaqueg wrote:I am glad you like my idea of a Comic/Anime forum.
Queeaqueg wrote:If there is a Comic Forum, I would go for SgtNull (as Mod) because he loves comics by the sound of it, and Me because it was my idea and I make comics.

sgtnull wrote:that would be fun. :P
Queeaqueg I think should be given a chance. And perhaps Null as well. :)
Reverendinium wrote:
Loremaster wrote:I still say 'no' to a comic forum.
Most say yes. I think it's a good idea - though I wouldn't visit it myself.
Fist and Faith wrote:I think a comic forum would be cool.
So, it's not a lot of people chiming in on it, but basically 13 people out of 15 are for it, so it seems like it would probably do ok, but I was thinking that maybe if we just ask people for a yea or nay vote, we might get a better idea....probably not, but whatever.

I think that, where the naysayers claim there's little interest been shown, if the forum was made it would take off (because there are a lot of comics fans here, even if there's not much discussion). On the other hand, I don't see much reason to add yet another forum.
Overall I don't really see any good reason not to have a comics forum, but considering the server errors and memory trouble, making the Watch bigger might not be a good idea.

I'm a comics fan and I would certainly participate in a comics forum, but I can't help but wonder that if there is so much interested now, where are the threads?

Erm... well, to be honest; I don't see no reason for it. But that's because I'm not into comics all that much. But I can see a reason why others would want it.

But Dlp's right, there's not been much actual discussion on the matter in the forums.

Very funny dAN. :D

Anyway Darth, maybe that's because they don't know where to put it? I see the word "comics" appears in 161 threads on the Watch. *shrug*

Anyway, since I argue so vehemently against removing forums from the Watch on the basis of diversity and choice, I suppose I can hardly vote against adding more. :LOLS:

Go ahead if you want it. I'll participate if I can.

we have had some discussion. and i have tabled some discussion for what i thought would be a new forum. but i have plenty of possible topics. and it wouldn't be just comic books from my understanding. comic strips and comic related tv shows would be up for discussion?

I vote for Null as moderator of the comic forum - if we get one.

The other forum I visit - the official Dr Who one - has at least thirty forums, including a comic one.

I would be interested in a comics forum. I see no problem with it. My only issue is that with the exception of 3 or 4 Marvel titles that I get monthly, I have little to add to a contemporary conversation. But I'll forage in the forum for discussions of silver age topics.

I have no problem with such a forum being made, though I would have little of worth to add to it. But I would like to see some of the internal error problems be taken care of first. :)

There's no "don't care" choice or I'd vote for that. I don't read manga or watch anime, but plenty of people do.

I've been getting quite a few "internal server error" messages while trying to view a new page. Is that due to the size of the board? Or do we not know?

I don't read comics, but I'd join in anime and manga discussion.
