i know Wells primarily from his short stories, and can only say: it´s brilliant stuff. one has to give those classics a chance. same for Verne of course.

somewhere i read that Goodking has sort of a writing disability. considering that, i think "Wizards First Rule" is an interesting novel. he might have some strange ideological views, though.

from what i can say now (and that is not very substantial since i have not yet finished), it is a fantastic work with a really unique way of telling things. the atmosphere is so compelety unconvential and enigmatic. i think it is also a great plus to transcribe magic from the usual meaning to a diff...
