I don't think in the entire history of the U.S. we've ever had a more blatant example specific individuals taking specific actions which directly, indisputably led to such a catastrophe for America in general. Imagine if we knew the 6 people who caused the Great Depression within months of it happe...

Funny, but I'm currently watching a DVD on my TV. No tuner required. Sound broken to you? I guess the government should just pay us for every inconvenient technological advance, eh? Edit- And in no way, shape, or form does upgrading obsolete entertainment equipment constitute a tax. so now I have t...

The TVs aren't broken, they work just fine. They've changed the method of broadcasting, and they've given ample warning. Should the government have bought everyone new cars when leaded gas was outlawed? Should the government pay me to buy a new car since they've mandated safety equipment that makes...

I think you have no idea what you're talking about when you make guesses as to what I'd do, and I'll thank you to keep those guesses to yourself. Secondly, the government spends $3-400 million on PBS , not billions. Next, your demographics for the average PBS viewer couldn't be more wrong . And fin...

But they're not too poor to own a TV. Sorry, TV's nice, but the government has no reason to pay for anyone to watch it. People benefit from regular sex as well, but I don't see the government handing out hooker coupons. Edit- To be clear, I have nothing against public television. Everyone loves Ses...

That's exactly the problem. Look, I agree that they should receive due process, but you can't put these people in a regular prison. I'm not beating on Obama for the Hell of it; I honestly don't know what he can do with these people. Call me uninformed, but why can't they be put in a regular prison?...

As someone who has personally hugely benefitted from the wealth of world class educational content on Public TV from childhood, coupled with the fact that most of these people requesting boxes are too poor to afford cable or satellite, I find it to be a vital public service initiative. Not to mentio...

yes...... Hey Esmer can you in your merciful manliness maybe yank the 80s OUT of my head, just for a little while? It's getting pretty bad. Replace it with anything, anything! Hell, even 60s indie... the bread/butter/toast/jam song! the beach boys song with no words, just random incomprehensible *w...
