I saw the show in Milwaukee on the 4th. Absolutely incredible! They sounded fantastic, and the energy of the crowd was amazing. I was totally blown away with the string section. I agree that they were very enjoyable to watch. They way that the sound was mixed was perfect, too. Just enough strings to...

Sarge, I'm totally with you here. I saw McCartney once, back in the mid-90's (the Flowers in the Dirt tour, maybe?) and it was an outstanding show. So much fun. It was an outdoor venue, and there were rain showers on and off through the show - it was like thousands of people singing in the shower to...

I had always thought that Lucas had said that only the films (and maybe the Clone Wars tv show) were cannon anyway. (Not that Lucas is ever the model of consistency in his pronouncements.... ). I just think that the new filmmakers will be very restrained if they try to make a new film that's c...

Saw this finally earlier this week. I loved it! Truly, this is a film that I can't get out of my head, and it's been 5 days so far... I agree aTOMiC, about some of the characters being under developed. It really felt like there were one or too other scenes that were probably filmed with them that we...

I'm very excited by this. Disney is fully capable of producing good stuff, that isn't always kid oriented. I hope they don't try to use original cast members. Something well after Jedi would be good placement-wise. I dabble in extended universe stuff and do like some of it, but I think making an ori...

Agreed - That's a cool link Z, thanks a bunch! I don't doubt that the digital distortion is there, I just don't recall hearing it to the extent that everyone seems to describe - and I don't just mean here - I've seen the comments other places as well. Maybe my hearing is such that I'm not picking up...

Vapor Trails - I really like this one. A lot. It took a while though. When it first came out, it sounded very one dimensional to me, and there wasn't much distinction between the sound of the songs. At least at that time. I remember liking the fire of One Little Victory right from the get go (still ...

I'd agree dAN, that would be something I'd like to hear also. As far as the album as a whole goes, it just comes down to numbers for me.... Yeah, I really enjoy some of it, the four you mentioned, Cail, plus Virtuality. T4E (song) and Virtuality aren't as striking for me as the other three (Driven, ...

Yup. I was reading it differently. Of course, now that you say it, that's most likely the way it was meant. Way to go MR, Captain Obvious! To me, as a believer, I was taking it as a positive thing - that prayer required a certain level of surrender. Also, when looking at the whole set of lyric...

Ah, Test For Echo. Yeah, I don't care for this one much. I still listen to it periodically (and did so recently) and some of it has grown on me, but others.... Well, starting with the good stuff: Production is great. Everything sounds good, nice heavy bass, great drum sound, all the intstruments are...

Well, duh. You're right. It just never occured to me before. I probably didn't see it because so much of popular music is about interpersonal relationships that it just didn't strike me as odd. Of course it should of, because this is Rush, and for them to do more than one song on an album abou...

Back on track and up to Counterparts. You know, I may have to adjust my ranking list a couple of pages back, because this is better than I remember it being. A lot. First off, I agree with both you about the production. It's fixed! Finally! This record sounds great. Absolutely brilliantly done. I ca...

awwww crap! I'm three albums behind? Presto was my first Rush album as well, and though I didn't take to it immediately, it was certainly one that grew on me. I agree with some of things you guys mentioned - Geddy's singing is great throughout, and the toning down of keyboards was a good thing...

I'm a die hard Packer fan, and I can't ever remember feeling so disgusted.... I have to say, on the good side, that the Seahawk defense played out of their minds for the first half - that was impressive to watch, even if it had to happen against my team. And as a Badger fan, it's great to see Wilson...

Yup. But by having two guys write the music with the third writing the lyrics I think they avoid the pitfalls that can happen when one guy writes everything all the time. There's a certain amount of repetition that can creep in to even the best song writers when they don't have other people to colla...
