Made ratatouille for the first time. DELICIOUS! Had no idea a vegetable stew could be so good. Yeah, it was traditionally a stew. Each vegetable is sauteed individually then combined and cooked together for a short time. This technique blends all the ingredients yet allows each individual flavor to ...

Whether it's salt/pepper plus 3 or you have salt and pepper now choose 5 is really dependent on the conversation/situation. I like to see what things ppl will choose. Almost everyone chooses garlic powder as #3 after salt and pepper. It really tells me a lot about their tastes when they get to numbe...

Kill yourself. YOU WIN!!! WTF?! Remember the "sissy test?" A kid would use an eraser on the back of your hand until you asked him to stop. I remember the kid who wanted to give me the test. He had a scab the size of a Cheeto on his hand. I told him I knew I wasn't a sissy and I didn't need...

Ya know, I've actually had a lot of fun with this thread over the years- except that I pose the question as five spices. It's interesting because you can really do a lot with 5- even if salt and pepper are 2 of the choices. Plus. you can really tell a lot about a person's tastes by their choices. So...

When doing your tasting prior to serving if you think it needs a little more of something or something is missing- it's probably salt.

Pizza is far and away the greatest creation from either of the two cuisines.

I eat Chinese much more frequently than I do Italian if you take pizza out of the equation.

I love Mexican, Indian, and Thai too. Cajun and American bar food are mandatory. Oh, jeez, I can't choose only one.

Ones like this: A man is lying face down in the middle of a desert and he is dead. He had on his back a pack that is full of all the provisions needed for survival in the desert. How did he die? A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender then pulls out a gun and points it at...

You know, Doc, speaking of rotgut characteristics, Woodford has been cut from my list of acceptable bourbon. Fifteen years ago, before it was popular, (and when it was left over barrels from the acquisition of the distillery) it was a damn fine bourbon. I quit drinking Woodford around 2008-9 due to ...

Tonight, at BW3's, I observed a table of five late teen/early 20s college students at a table together. Two guys, three girls, all nice looking but not over the top attractive. (Hell, anyone under 30 and not fat is nice looking nowadays lol!) Anyway, it was one of the saddest things I ever saw. They...

Riddles/puzzles: I like those ones where you have to ask yes and no questions to figure out the solution. I also like the daily Jumble in the newspaper. It is rare, and I mean rare, that I don't solve them all in less than one minute. Games: If it requires more strategy, coordination, or skill than ...

YES! I love DST! Wish we stayed on it all year, but we don't because of the sunrise time during the shortest days of the year. Don't want little kids waiting for the bus in the dark and such.
