I have to say that I love it! It was very different to what I'd expected.. But basically it seems the people who don't like it (so far) don't like it because it challenged their pre-existing concepts of the Land, at some points (especially in Runes) it's quite slow, Linden's thoughts can be a bit r...

Sorry for the OT previously. You've got a good point, Drew. If I had to pick from the two, I'd pick Foamfollower. Aside from Mhoram and TC, he was my favorite character who was totally looking out for Thomas the entire time he was around him regardless of TC's actions.

whats that about UFC being glorified bar brawls, and cheap shots rule? THATS a bunch of crap...if they were boxing, Tyson could take out any of em, but if it was an MMA match, any of em(the good ones) could take him down...hed still have a chance, though, as he IS(was) really strong and quick...and...

I could see it an an anime - it would be fun, and animes are more likely to tread on more experimental territory. Also, a mini-series from the Sci-fi channel - a la Dune could do it justice. Actually, I wonder if that's been thought over by those with the rights. That sounds like a great idea if a ...

Wow~! I just got home with the book, and I really like the art on it a lot better than I thought I would based on what I could tell on pics of the ARCs on e-bay~! It sort of makes me sad seeing the top of the book saying, "The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant," but then I thought I'd rea...

Well, hey, it's the return of savant to the Watch! Welcome back! 8) I should give the bookstore the benefit of a doubt in the case of Runes's invisibility. The place likely just got a shipment in, and the staff just didn't have time to set up the copies for display on the shelves. It's just us craz...

I checked Barnes and Nobles website, and their availability date is October 14th. With all the school and work I have going on, I want to just be able to pick it up at a nearby store, but I'll definitely find time to read it once it's in my grasp~!

I know - I wanted to read the previous six (7 if you include the little one) books before Runes, but to tell you the truth I know them inside out anyway- For years I never even imagined there would be a 3rd (and final) Chronicles so I was just content to read them over and over again - probably som...

Now here's a funny thing - I've had an ARC for over a week now - and I just can't read it. All sorts of things going through my mind - will Ilike it? will I be able to put it down? what am I going to do for the next 2 and a half years waiting for the next one? I think I'm treating it more like some...

It's getting so close now that I can't see spending a lot extra for the ARC, but I'd seriously thought about it last month and can't blame anyone who did get it~!

I also have the added excuse of school going on, so I'll be patient... those numerous days of waiting~! :D

Ah yeah~! 8)

I saw on e-bay where someone was selling a hardcover 1st ed copy but think it may be a little misleading, as it seems to really be stating it's more of a reserve than something that'll be shipped immediately or I'd have bid on it~!

Hang in there everyone~!

Thanks for the info. After 20 years it's almost worth paying higher prices on eBay but I'm sure I won't. Can't wait for the book, but you make a great point about that making it an even longer wait for the second book to arrive. You're welcome. I also understand not wanting to wait, though for me i...

Re: What I want to know....

is WHERE are people getting copies of Runes to have already read it? I read the first chronicles at about the time The Power That Preserves was published. Read the second as they were released. Also read the Gap series as it was released. SRD is probably the *best* living author IMHO, but I don't h...

Hmmm, occurs to me that TC is one of the Dead now, and with the Law of Life broken, perhaps Foul has twisted him, or a raver possessed him..... I like the sandgorgon raver concept, sends shivers up my spine. The above post is only speculation, not necessarily a spoiler.... but it certainly could co...
