Welcome to the Watch Anya. :D I see you're already being assimilated by the regulars.

Always nice to see new folk around. Join in anywhere you like, but you may want to watch out for spoilers in all the SRD forums. (Except the Gap and Mordants Need of course. :) )

Go forth and post.

(Oh, and TWL is my favourite of the 2nd Chrons.)

Welcome to the Watch Anya!

If you are reading the Chrons for the first time it's probably best stay out of all the Chronicles forums until you have at least finished the Second Chronicles, as even thread titles there will be spoilerish. Once you are done though jump in and don't be afraid to bump old threads or start new ones. We like that kind of thing

Yes, yay! for not being online 24/7 anymore -- but hrm. Is she doing okay?

Yes, I think it was just a bug. She went straight to her room when she got home yesterday and skipped dinner (not like her!)...but said she felt better this morning and was up-and-out before Dam-sel or me.

Hi, everyone. I'm Hunchback Jack (or HBJ, or Jack). I've been lurking on here on and off for many years, and may have even registered before, by some long-forgotten username, but I signed up again today.

I first read SRD in 1983 or '84, as a high school kid in Australia. I was utterly captivated by The Land, and felt like I shared the damnation and redemption of Covenant. It was an intense experience that only a powerful book read during the formative years of our lives can produce.

I still have those creased and yellowed Fontana paperbacks upstairs.

I've since read anything by SRD I could get my hands on, and he is a buy-on-sight author for me. I've given copies of his work to friends, and subsequently those friends have raved (not Raved) about his work to others.

Now living in the US, I was fortunate enough to meet him in 2004 during his book tour for Runes, and completely failed to communicate to him how much his work means to me. But he was very gracious.

Welcome Jack!

Good intro! I found the Chronicles captivating and exhausting when I first read them - but definitely unlike anything I'd ever read before.
