I think it's a bad sign that no one has selected the 'Posting in Mallory's' option on the poll. Priorities, people!

My brood is unfazed by fireworks, thanks to the upstairs neighbor's jackhammer plumbing and a general neighborhood affinity for things that go boom. "Fireworks or Gunfire?" is a popular guessing game around here.

Yeah, this isn't a nice neighborhood. No outdoor Christmas lights around here - they'd be stolen or vandalized within 5 minutes.

I meant to Vote Mallory, but I think I clicked The discovery of Planet 9 out on the fringes of the solar system, which was a mistake because Pluto was discovered all the way back in 1930 and dwarf planets are planets too, dammit.

When the Plutonians invade us, I will be spared.

I was going to send this at New Years since I'm the first here (except for any New Zealanders) to celebrate it - but it was late, and I was too tired

I've been successful in not smoking since 2:30am on 1/1/17. It's been a living hell since then, but I suspect it will get better as it does the times I've quit if my marriage can hold until we're both in the proper space to be in each other's presence again. I'm kidding, of course, but there has been a lot of unbearable tension, and not the good kind.
