Sky would agree that there are more roos in the bush here than we can count.
They appear to be most active, and like to come to the roads at dawn and dusk. One theory is that they see reflections from a low sun on the road and mistake the glitter for water.
The main thing is when a lot of roos are active and about - and any animals really - is to keep the speed in check as you described. You just have to accept that the trip will take 10 minutes or 1 hour longer than planned. Otherwise it can get messy - and cold without a windscreen!

The UK housing market is stagnant and property value falling in some places; business investment is one fifth of that prior to the EU referendumand our GDP has fallen from the highest in Europe to second from bottom - and all this is put down to the uncertainties created as we navigate our way toward our post-europe future. Well suprise, suprise. At what point was there not going to be a price for tearing up fifty years of our history and striking off in a new direction. Those who were crowing that Osbourne and Carney had merely been agents of 'project fear' within mere weeks of the referendum were either nieve to the point of stupidity or duplicitous; economies, like oil tankers, do not turn on a sixpence; it takes months or even years for actions to be felt, and now the clear and obvious results of the vote are being felt we hear very little from those squawkers in admission or apology.
A fantasy book I'm currently reading starts of with the aphorism that "he who begins a journey claiming to know the endpoint is either very wise or very foolish" and knowing what we now do of the chaos we have unleashed it appears that those of the Leave campaign who made such bold promises were very foolish indeed. It remains to be seen if those who were tempted by the painted scenarios of the gilded future we can expect will still believe the price worth paying when it is exacted in the form of their own job being heaped onto the rising slopes of the Brexit cost funeral pyre.

No warts .. I agree ... from what you have described it would seem that Brexit wasnt particularly beneficial. The only thing I wondered was why it was here and not in Brexit thread in the Tank.

If it gets up your nose and it is what you think then I can handle that.
There is no doubting that the political spin and practical elements required to make any optimism a success have not met in the middle enough to deliver on outcomes.
Fear, uncertainty and dread are a potent combination. Thats what I am picking up on the leadership in this Brexit scenario.
Having said that, I am pretty sure it was you who forebode all of the above over 12 months ago.

Ah well, I am on the eastcoast at the moment. So it is out of the hotel room and into my mum and dads place tonight. That means I have to watch "Britains got Talent" reruns and pretend I didn't look up the results.
It will go like this.

MUM: Oh i like this show son.
ME: Yes mum it's great.
MUM: There's only one of them hosting, where's the other one?
ME: Thats Dec mum. Ant is in rehab.

As to why I posted the above here and not in the Brexit thread; silly really, but I'm trying to keep that thread more objective on 'where we are' (my predictive text just changed 'are' into 'arent't' - Freudian tech maybe, and certainly an easier question to answer ) and this was definitely more about what I thought than a simple recitation of events/facts. (NB. I like seeing other people's thoughts on the unfolding story of Brexit in the other place, but I'm trying, though not always successfully, to keep mine out.

My eldest daughter does a quasi stand up routine, where she takes the piss out of me .. she does a performance art caricature of her cop mum .. and starts with mum in various policing scenarios .. but make no mistake .. not in a complementary way .. rather in absolute pure mockery of me and me as a cop. Its always the same and she always has me rolflmao .. literally. Totally cracks me up.

Special attention is given to my personal assessment of my driving capabilities .. "being professionally trained n all"

But all my kids whenever we get together delight in taking the piss out of their mum .. though to be fair we do get into some very funny situations .. that just beg taking the piss out of

I hear ya Pete .. and I feel pretty much the same way. Im too old to pick up and move anywhere ... Im happy, comfortable and content with where we are. I also dont really have the travel bug .. kinda a home body tbh.

All good mate .. not at all a criticism .. I am certainly no thread nazi .. I think sometimes peeps can get overly concerned with these kinds of things.

Actually I enjoy hearing what YOU think about this shit .. and also in the interests of full disclosure .. I have very little to go on but mostly my opinion, I could be a lot more informed if I was particularly invested but as a passing observer Im in a luxurious position. i can proffer an opinion without it actually affecting me at all.

So, today I think that my mothers view of Britains Got Talent is as high as it was yesterday. Gee whiz that is a bizarre show. The chubby little Japanese guy who strips was too bizarre. Mum protested, "There is no way he can be selected to perform in front of the queen!" ..... and no, the chubby little Japanese guy who strips did not make it through.

Interesting to know if the four Labour MP's who "preserved May's premiership" ( The Guardian's words, not mine) by defying their 'whip' and voting in support of the Government's Trade Bill ( defeat of which could have tumbled her) vere also part of the two failed coup's that attempted to topple Corbyn from the Labour party leadership not so long ago?

Of particular interest to me (given my own earlier pronouncements on the subject ), conservative MP Anna Soubry in an interview on Radio 4's Today program called, in the face of the growing crisis in the country for the formation of a Government of National Unity where May reaches out to like minded MP's from other - particularly Labour - parties to confront the dire straits we are in.

My kids leave us tomorrow and tomorrow we have a xmas in July thing .. which should be fun .. therell be snow too which will just add that little extra magic touch

Ive had such a lovely week having the kids and my granbaby home with us ..

Today is our last day so had home made waffles for breaky as you do .. when you have special visitors. The weather has been pretty shit though a few hours of sun in the middle of the day has made it nice to enjoy outside time with them. Of course we get a lot of outside time but we have such a nice outside entertaining area But too cold to use the fire pit at night, when the sun goes down .. temps drop well below 0C.

People are so wired these days, so edgy with the pace their lives run at, that the most mundane of tasks tear them apart with frustration simply because of the short period of time required to be spent for their completion. Take paying the guy over the till for example (and yes - that's me and this is another story from my catalogue of experiences from the humdrum and mundane end of life ) ......... I've noticed of late that more and more people physically thrust their money into my space as I am still working on scanning their goods and processing their requests, such is their impatience and need to get back to hurtling forward on to the next task of their day. The enforced wait with no activity on their part seems almost physically painful for them. This can't be good for us can it? Damn - we all need to slow down and take stock. Is there anywhere left where the philosophy of 'manyana' still holds sway; if so - I want to be there..........
