Welcome, the cymbrogi!
I joined this forum when I was grappling with things from the Chrons & wanted to find others who had suffered as I did!

I hope you do find some interesting discussions, and join in.
And much enjoyment to you with finishing / re-finishing the series.
...but.. what if we wake up and realize we were living in an SRD-built world all along?!?

Yes! That! that is fascinating, and a thing that happens...thecymbrogi wrote:Shocked at how much either (a) these books have affected my thinking my entire life or (b) these books reflect my lifetime of thinking.

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

Hello from Spokane, WA
Life experiences like betrayal and loss are the long arm of Lord Foul, attempting to lure you toward the "realism" of cynicism and apathy. But "mercy!" and love are more powerful than "bloody hellfire!" and hate

you know, I hadn't thought of some of the implications of living in an SRD-built world. (i.e. "is my subconscious creating this fantasy world and all of the people in it?")
I hadn't gotten that far yet, okay?
Good one, Rigel!
Welcome, LL!!!
I am delighted to see a suitably in-genre Land username!
Mine used to be like that too until Lucimay went ahead and changed it on me.
Anyway, yay, we get a Chwistmas Pwezint!

Name changes are certainly not unheard-of here. At least the names chosen in this case were unambiguously pronounceable.
Welcome to the Watch, LL. A fine Giantish name! May you thrive here and contribute.

I will create a thread in the special moderators forum to see if that will help her.]
