I'd rather watch the remains of Buster Keaton play Willy Wonka than Carrey.

What about The Rock? Or Vin Diesel? You guys are leaving out the rest of the atypical Hollywood stars!

How about David Duchovny? Or perhaps a marble statue of Buster Keaton?

I now know why Steve Guttenberg's been so silent all these years. He's been waiting in the wings for this role.

Not possible. It will always be fantastic.

And I suppose the remake could be good. At least I can see Depp in the role.

Yeah, if anybody was to do it, I'd like to see the Burton and Depp team, for sure. I wonder if it'll be a musical. Was the book a musical? Heh.

I heard somewhere that this movie will attempt to follow the book. It won't be a remake, I think the end result will be more original than some may believe. Wonka for example, heh, is no longer the caring guy that the original script and Wilder molded him into. Expect more of the "paddle-boat" Wonka. The character is a bit more sinister.

And to quote a bit from Covenant, in reguards to the little people of the factory.."their plight is abominable."

I think it might be interesting, but who knows? Have to wait and see I guess.
And so on I walk the world,
a slave to this dark fiend,
traveling, traveling, held within a dream......

Quite. There is something quite wrong about Adam Sandler. Leave it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let it lie!
I love Gene. Charlie was a bit heave inducing though, we must all admit. I do go for Grandad Joe though, anybody dancing in their jammies gets my vote.

Why is there always a theme of adults not working in Dahl's books? The nasty Aunts in James and the Giant Peach made him, ala Cinderella, do all the work--and almost all the family members in CatCF were either bums or sick! Did Burton do the failed attempt at James and the Giant Peach-I think he did...His surreal quality might improve CatCF the Wilder movie was too cutsey and lacked Dahl's surreality, for me.

btw...Adam Sandler not funny. And I cannot even watch Ben Stiller! :P

I quite like Ben. Zoolander is one of the funniest films I have EVER seen.

Ben Stiller's wife, who has a major role in Zoolander, is hot. That is all.

I always idolised Verruca Salt. Who shall play her?

There were other women in the film? I musta not been paying attention. Er, sorry, back to Willy Wonka.

I wonder if they're going to approach it doing the song-and-dance/musical stuff of the first movie. Just hard to picture Johnny Depp doing that.

I suppose since they said they're keeping closer to the book, it'll be just a normal narrative and no musical deviations,

Hated the first and see no need for a remake.

I don't think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory should have been made into a film in the first place, never mind being remade :-x
