I'd rather watch the remains of Buster Keaton play Willy Wonka than Carrey.

What about The Rock? Or Vin Diesel? You guys are leaving out the rest of the atypical Hollywood stars!

I think a new Willy Wonka movie would be very interesting. I just hope it won't take away from the first one.

Yeah, if anybody was to do it, I'd like to see the Burton and Depp team, for sure. I wonder if it'll be a musical. Was the book a musical? Heh.

I heard somewhere that this movie will attempt to follow the book. It won't be a remake, I think the end result will be more original than some may believe. Wonka for example, heh, is no longer the caring guy that the original script and Wilder molded him into. Expect more of the "paddle-boat" Wonka. The character is a bit more sinister.

And to quote a bit from Covenant, in reguards to the little people of the factory.."their plight is abominable."

I think it might be interesting, but who knows? Have to wait and see I guess.

Why is there always a theme of adults not working in Dahl's books? The nasty Aunts in James and the Giant Peach made him, ala Cinderella, do all the work--and almost all the family members in CatCF were either bums or sick! Did Burton do the failed attempt at James and the Giant Peach-I think he did...His surreal quality might improve CatCF the Wilder movie was too cutsey and lacked Dahl's surreality, for me.

btw...Adam Sandler not funny. And I cannot even watch Ben Stiller!

I wonder if they're going to approach it doing the song-and-dance/musical stuff of the first movie. Just hard to picture Johnny Depp doing that.

I suppose since they said they're keeping closer to the book, it'll be just a normal narrative and no musical deviations,
