I'll bet I die by being hit by a snowplow during a freak June snowstorm...
Don't know why, I just thought that might be it when a snowplow drove past me today doing a speed no snowplow should be doing *shudder*

That's my outlook pretty much, except I'm not concerned about doing anything meaningful before I die (even what I consider meaningful, like publishing a book). As long as I've enjoyed the majority of it (which I have, so far) they can send me to hell and I'll still have no regrets.Matrixman wrote:cheval's answer sums it up for me as well.
Members here who are fortunate to have (the proverbial) loving family may find that answer incomprehensible, but it needs to be understood that there must be a respectable number of loners and misfits (outcast unclean!) here at the Watch who, when they die, likely won't be surrounded by attentive, loving ones. That's life.
How do I want to die? Without pain, and at a time and place of my choosing. Also, it would be nice to die knowing I had accomplished something meaningful in my life, defined by me as meaningful, not by people who just want to make me feel better.
How do I think I'll die? With some degree of pain, and likely not at an ideal time of my choosing. And I could die without achieving what I want to achieve in my life.
Sound depressing? Well, I can hope for some sense of solitary dignity in my passing. Dying alone, I can pretend I'm an Unfettered One: unloved and unmourned perhaps, but at the same time free of clutter in his life.

When thinking of my own death, I am reminded of Aragorn. His life was a gift, and in the end he had the grace to give it back and go before old age and sickness toke him perforce.
I would like to be like that.

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.
In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.
He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

According to the Bible, there will be some that are called to heaven in the end times. If you are a Christian & the end times come & you hear the angel's trumpet, the rapture has happened & you are floating to meet Jesus in the skies to await a new body in heaven.

I was told that drowning is actually a peaceful way to go.The Leper Fairy wrote:Not by drowning, I hope.
It is quicker than most people think and hardly ever painful.
This was told to me by a person whom succeeded several times
in suicide attempts.

Not sure, but I'm willing to bet it'll be something stupid. I can almost guaranty my last words will be, "Watch this!".
