bear with me

Post by algini »

bear with me I am new and this is a bit more complicated for me.
I dreampt many years ago and when I awoke the only thing I could remember was the words 'Lord Foul's Bane'....which made no sense to me but they haunted me until I saw the book and from there I never looked back.

In some circles they say a book wants to be written, the story waits for the person that will bring it to life for all of us to read. As the writer creates the words upon the page it comes alive not just in his/her mind but within the minds of all who read and from there a new world exist that grows within Its own heart.

I found such wonderment, such pain and passion, such utter dismay and glorious joy in all the writing of the Land. I thank you Stephen R. Donaldson for bringing me your books......all of them.

I hope you read this.
regards and great joy

Welcome to the Watch!

I suggest you post your thoughts as above at SRD's website in the Gradual Interview. That is the best way to contact him, as he does not come here often.

Hail algini, be welcome among us. :D

For a second I could have sworn this was an entry in the Book of the New Sun series ;)

My apologies, algini. Your writing just reminded me of the Book of the New Sun - a series set millions of years into the future, set on Earth/Urth about a Torturer. Extremely well written and very imaginative.

Yep, I could see Master Ultan saying it.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
