Well, my initial reaction upon finishing Runes was "wow, Fatal Revenant's going to kick ass"--not that Runes didn't. I can honestly say I didn't miss Covenant, as I saw his absence as both necessary and something I'd experienced before to a great deal (One Tree). So I was ready. Overall, a great work; I'm not quite sure yet how it ranks in my overall favorites, as far as Covenant books go.
I especially loved the "Despiser's Guidance" chapter, and I'm sure you all know why.

For me, that was the TCTC version of Lethal Weapon, with Foul being the bad cop and Linden being the good. Or maybe that wasn't Lethal Weapon that did that. Oh well.
Anyway, I must say that my
favorite chapter was the next to last one, before "Find Me"; so much went on in that chapter. It threw some punches I didn't expect, which is a trademark of all the TCTC books, for me. Seeing Anele shine in that chapter was great--almost as great as seeing Linden verbally unload on those Haruchai. You could tell that their whole "jaw muscles knotting" was their equivalent of

(I still love 'em, though). But, anywho, great book; loved it.
