CTHD is tied with a few movies for my favorite ever. The story, the acting, the choreography of the fights, the cinematography, the music, the humor, the tribute to the Hong Kong flicks of decades past... I'm in awe every time I watch it.
And as I've mentioned, there's a CTHD comic book. It's stunning! The art is superb. The detail of things like hair, faces, shattering wood, etc etc, is awesome. And many pages are in beautiful water colors. I can't recommend this comic enough. And it's not a movie adaptation, it's a different adaptation of the original books, by Wang Du Lu, which I believe are still only in Chinese. At least they're not in English.
Actually, the comic book is much more powered than the movie, more like Jedi. Li Mu Bai, and others, manipulated their surroundings to a much greater degree than in the movie. And the first time we ever see the Green Destiny sword, it says:
It wasn't just beautiful, and sharp and strong, it radiated power.Upon the appearance of the Green Destiny sword, the spectators were mesmerized by its grand power.
