3 is a magick number...

Post by Cagliostro »

Hi folks! I'm a fan of all things Donaldson, although I never have read any of his mystery books as I have never found any of them until recently.

Just to sum up my opinion of his works -

Gap series is probably my personal favorite of his stuff. Way heady stuff.

Covenant comes a close second, but hits me much more emotionally, so it is really hard to compare the two.

I can't wait to see how the new Covenant books will turn out.

Welcome Cagliostro.

The GAP series are excellent writings.
(My favorite sci-fi saga)
TCTC are excellent fantasy writings.
(My favorite fantasy saga)

It is hard to say which is better than the other,
since they are of different genders and styles,
but the point is... they are excellent!

BTW - LMAO at your "signature"

You're signature is fabulous. Have you seen the one where the penguin trips the other one?

The real Cagliostro came way before Robert Anton Wilson--as a matter of fact if didn't he try to posion the Pope? He, at least, posioned a very well placed Cardinal. Oh yeah, he studied the Coptic way and Gnosticism in Eqypt. Why more authors don't incorporate him in fantasy is beyond me...

Hmm, interesting. Pretty sure Wilson was the only mention I've heard of him. (Although I've never looked, I must say.)

Hail Cagliostro! Welcome to Kevins Watch. :D
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

No, I have not, but I'd love to see it. I'm not a penguin fanatic or anything, but I do find it funny. And I also find your "name" pretty hilarious as well.

I am, as a matter of fact. I came across Cagliostro through his books (particularly the Historical Illuminatus, which are probably my favorite bunch of books from him), but did a lot of research on him, then decided I might write a fictional book on him, then did a whole lot more research on him, then got lazy and never started. Maybe one day I'll do it, but it would definitely be pulpy in the form that I had it before. And from what I've read, almost no account of ol' Caggie reads the same as the one before. Which is why he is so rich a character, in my opinion.

Currently I'm working on a screenplay, and am well into it. I'd say I'm past the halfway point on it. I'm going to try to sell it, but if not, I might just try to put it together myself and make it. I like film, and am interested in being a part of it - possibly editing. I do enjoy editing video, for some reason. But I figure if I try it all just once, what I enjoy most out of it will come to me. And I'll have something to show potential employers.

Anyway, enough about me.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes, and I hope you all can bear my company.

*slaps Cagliostro in the back of the head as he walks past*

Bear your company? As long as you can put up with us. ;)

:LOLS:

Thanks for the explanation. I enjoyed the Historical Chronicles as well. And thanks for the link Cj. ;)

Anyway, as Cheval said, it's more a question of whether or not you can bear us. :D Have fun
