Hey all - I've lurked around here a few times so I'd better show my face. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post, but I'm a huge fan of SRD and have been ever since my Mum bought me a copy of 'The Power that Preserves' when I was ten. I know - but she meant well, and I read the other two First Chronicles afterwards. Since then I've been through everything SRD I've been able to find. I think The Illearth War is probably my favourite novel of all time, bar none.

Anyways - hey.

Welcome.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

Hail Alberich, welcome to the Watch. :D

Hail, Sunder! It's about time the Graveler of Mithil Stonedown joined the Watch! 8)

(It's a little surprising that no one took Sunder as a username earlier, considering how popular his character is with fans.)

Hiya, this is a fantastic site, but don't you just hate your first post on a new forum. It's like walking into a party and everyone stops talking, turns around stares. Waiting on you to eaither impress them or make a fool of yourself. . . . . .imagine I've tripped, upset a table of drink and I'm now sitting in a dish of coleslaw.

<stares>

"Who's that guy sitting in the cole slaw?"

Welcome to the Watch, and congrats on what may be one of the best opening posts I've ever seen. ;)

New to Kevin's Watch

Post by jimdwa »

I first read Thomas Covenant in the early 80's. I read all the way through to The Wounded Land but had to wait for The One Tree and White Gold Wielder to be published. I was at Waldenbooks when they opened for both releases. I'm re-reading for the fifth (I think) time to prepare for The Last Chronicles. I have The Runes of the Earth but wanted to do the re-read first. I'll have to watch out for spoilers. Do you mark posts with spoiler warnings? I noticed one of the boards has a warning but I was wondering if individual posts there have warnings. I've been afraid to even read the topic headers in there.
