hi all

Post by Fun_Bane »

hi all, I thought I'd best 'check in' here before I began posting - I feel somewhat of a fraud, because although I've read both the first two TC chronicles, and the Gap series, and Mordants Need, and Reave the Just, I currently own *none* of them ( I plan to slowly remedy this) and my memory of these uniformly superb books is fading all too fast ... anyway, untill I get back up to speed I hope I'm forgiven/excused for being a rather useless member for the time being - huuuuge fan though, make no mistake, the TCC literally changed my life, and the Gap series had me enthralled - Mordants Need was absolutely charming and Reave the Just bubbling with ideas and creativity ...

so 'hi' :D
... it really tied the room together ...

Welcome to the Watch Fun_Bane, nobody is going to worry about how "up to speed" you are, I assure you. Visit the TC forums to let us know your thoughts and impressions, but you may want to avoid the Runes forum, it's full of spoilers. Explore...there's plenty to talk about here. ;)

Welcome, aslo head over to the Disecting the Land area, and catch up on all the chapters.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

thanks very much for the kind welcome people - although i forget a lot of the terms and language associated with the Land, most of the images are as vivid in my mind now as when I first read the books - It's well past time I re-read them all too ...
... it really tied the room together ...

Hello everyone,
Fantastic site - hopefully will keep me going till Fatal Revenant. I read the first 4 books 25 years ago (and many times since along with the others) and introduced my wife to SF through them.
A few years ago I was in a discworld newsgroup as Brinn so I thought I'd better choose a DW character for here.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want
to test a man's character, give him power.
--Abraham Lincoln

Excerpt from Animal Songs Never Written
"Hey, dad," croaked the vulture, "what are you eating?"
"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"
