It's just a jump to the left
and then a step to the right
you put your hands on your hips
and pull your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust
that really drives you insane
Let's do the time warp again!!!!!!!
"Hellfire! Everybody in this whole business, you and everyone keep accusing me of being some sort of closet expert. I tell you, I don't know one damn thing about this unless someone explains it to me. I'm not your bloody Berek."
Hell, I've been on 8 days now, and just came to this topic... It may be to late to introduce myself... Dont ask me how I found Kevin's watch, I wont tell. But I kinda like it... I think it's the whole WGD thing. Anyway! I am here, so HELLO!
Hello, I´m new. Why that picture on top of this pages? At that time and place there would be no Covenant of any substance to hold that staff. Or am I wrong? Nice clean robes too. Good for Covenant too keep his ring. But can he hold the staff, so why not...
Am I in the wrong forum now? Should I be disecting the land?
Heh, I think that's more of dissecting the banner than the land.
Welcome, Ylva Kresh. Welcome and True.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
-George Steiner
Thank you for the warm welcome! The front cover of WGW (Del Rey, Nov-89), which includes the part of the banner has wexed me quite some time now, 14 years acctually. Good to get it into the open and fresh air of this forum. More irritationg however, is the illustrations for Gilden Fire (Fontana-84). Is it generally known that several illustrations are stolen from the book "Gods and Heroes from Viking Mythology"? Looks stupid on page74 (Korik spring from Brabhas back) and p 84 (Ranyhyn leap the gorge) when all weaponry have been removed from the rider´s hands and when Fenris the Wolf stands model for some Kresh at page 90. And more, but I should not bore you.
Very sad since I absolutely adore Peter Goodfellow´s illustrations on the front covers throughout the series.
(and I think I speak for the rest of us that any obscure facts remotely SRD related interest us)
